BUSBY, Nancy Marie -
A loving mother of three, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the young age of 49 due to a stroke. Her untimely passing comes with 13 years after the loss of her husband, Erik Juha Rasanen. Nancy was the devoted and loving mother to her three children, Tyler, Meghan and Joey. Her passing has left a significant void in the lives of many, including her mother Irene, father Don, sister Kim, brother Chris, and countless extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
Nancy’s beautiful soul radiated wherever she went. She was a true rock star, a fighter, and an all-around amazing person. Her presence lit up any room she walked into, and her kindness, care and determination was truly remarkable. Nancy played many roles in her life; daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, but above all, she was an incredible mother. Her love for her children knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Nancy took pride in her children’s accomplishments, going to every hockey game, award ceremony, or celebratory event she could. She loved spending quality time with them, from concerts, going to the arcade, or even sitting down to play cards or a board game. She especially enjoyed going for walks with them by the waterfront, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Nancy dedicated her life to her children. Persevering through many rough patches with a smile on her face. She was a remarkably strong woman who fought until the very end and deserved to life the rest of her life on her own terms.
A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held in the near future, close to the water where she loved. We humbly ask for your support during these difficult times for Nancy’s children.
