Obituary for Nghia Trung Nguyen
NGUYEN, Nghia Trung -
Passed away on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, in his home in Whitby, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 78 years old. He passed with dignity, on his own terms and with family by his side. Nghia was the beloved husband of Kim Dung Tran; father of Trang Nguyen, Truc (KJ Lee) Nguyen, and Hiep Nguyen; grandfather of Luke Tran, Genevie Tran, and Juno Nguyen; and brother of Hanh Nguyen. He was born in Bien Hoa, Vietnam, and worked as a high school teacher from 1965 until he escaped from Vietnam in 1980. He settled in Belleville, Ontario, with his wife and three children, where he established his own business as an electrician. With his wife, Nghia also created his own charity devoted to ill children in Vietnam. In the legacy of Nghia’s work, donations to his charity, ICIC Vietnam, would be appreciated. The funeral service will be held on Saturday May 13, 2023 from 2-5pm at W.C. Town Funeral Chapel (110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, Ontario L1N 2H7). Visitation will be from 2-4 pm, and the Celebration of Life will be from 4-5 pm.
