Obituary for Dr. James Ewart Chaters
CHARTERS, Dr. James Ewart -
Passed away peacefully at The Village of Taunton Mills on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the age of 95.
Ewart graduated in Medicine in 1954 from the University of Toronto.
He served his country as a group Captain in the RCAF medical service. Later he moved with his wife and children to Alliston, Ontario where he practiced as a general practitioner with Medical Associates from 1960 until 1978. Ewart and his wife, Joan moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1978 practicing medicine until 1998.
In 2010, they moved to Village of Taunton Mills in Whitby Ontario.
Ewart collected antique clocks and continued this passion throughout his entire life. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of clocks with his friends and the clock community.
Beloved husband to Joan. Loving father to Susan Charters-Conner (John) and Michael Charters (Donna). Cherished grandfather to Michael Conner (Nicky Hayes), Jennifer, Shannon and Christine Charters (Christian Santos). Great-Grandfather to Charlotte and Mateo Santos. Dear brother to Jean Flynn (Garry) and uncle to Tess and Kathryn.
