Obituary for George Wodoslawsky

WODOSLAWSKY, George -
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of George Wodoslawsky in the early hours of February 14th, 2023, after a battle with cancer. George was born in 1954 in Toronto to immigrant parents Nicholas and Maria (Kotula Decyk) Wodoslawsky. He grew up in the Davenport area, graduated from Oakwood High School, achieved a Bachelor's of Arts in Econometrics at York University, and became a quality assurance professional. George was an active member of Plast Ukrainian Youth Association from 1961 into the 2000's, at first a participant, then volunteering as a counsellor, then volunteering in an administrative role. He was very dedicated to his multi-term directorship at the Ukrainian Credit Union Ltd. In his last professional and retirement years, George volunteered with the St Joseph Golf Tournament committee in various roles, served on the Town of Springwater Compliance Audit Committee, and in various roles in the Oro-Medonte Chamber of Commerce. Adrian and Andrew remember enjoyable summers and weekends with him: kayaking adventures on Lake Simcoe, cross-country days at Hardwood Hills, Monopoly nights at the cottage in Hawkstone. He was also our reliable ride and audience at soccer practice, and Ukrainian Saturday school. We also remember father’s dedication to taking care of his ailing parents in the 2000’s – taking time away from his career to care for them as their needs increased. George is survived by his two sons, Adrian living in the Toronto Metro area, and Andrew, living in the Portland, Oregon, area.
