Obituary for Gerald Sylvio "Gerry" Perron
PERRON, Gerald Sylvio -
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald Sylvio Perron on October 28th, 2022 at the age of 84. He passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family and his devoted wife of 34 years, Rita Perron (née Hamelin). He was pre-deceased by his first wife Laurette (née Lavictoire) who passed away on January 17, 1987.
Loving father of Diane (Brian), André (Line), Sylvie (Michel), Jacqueline (Richard) and stepfather to Carol (Tom), Mary (Jean-François), Glen (Gina) and Susan (Ken).
Cherished Pépère of Alisha, Christopher, Stéphanie, Kevin, Raphaël, Megan, Brett, Laura, Sam, Sarah, Lee, Eric, Amy, Brian and fur babies Shadow, Duke and Buddy. Also, proud great grandpa to Pearson, Wesley, Marigold, Bay and Gavin.
He leaves behind sister Simone (Fleury) and loving brother Yvon.
Gerry will be loved and missed greatly by family and friends. Gerry had an incredible smile and a warm caring heart that endeared him to all that met him. He lived a full life, working as an underground miner, founded and operated Perron Seamless Eavestrough and successfully ran Buster’s Confectionery until he retired at the age of 60. He will be remembered for his many family corn roasts, his love of camping and fishing, his woodworking talents and making maple syrup with his brother Maurice.
A celebration of life will be held at Paroisse Sainte-Croix in Haileybury on Monday, November 14th, 2022 at 11 am. Reception to follow.

C'est avec le cœur lourd que nous annonçons le décès de Gerald Sylvio Perron le 28 octobre 2022 à l'âge de 84 ans. Il est décédé paisiblement dans sa maison, entouré de sa famille aimante et de son épouse dévouée, Rita Perron (née Hamelin) pendant 34 ans. Il est aussi prédécédé par sa premìere femme Laurette (née Lavictoire) défunte le 17 janvier 1987.
Père aimant de Diane (Brian), André (Line), Sylvie (Michel), Jacqueline (Richard) et beau-père de Carol (Tom), Mary (Jean-François), Glen (Gina) et Susan (Ken).
Pépère chéri d'Alisha, Christopher, Stéphanie, Kevin, Raphaël, Megan, Brett, Laura, Sam, Sarah, Lee, Eric, Amy, Brian et de ses bébés à fourrure Shadow, Duke et Buddy. Aussi fier arrière-grand-père de Pearson, Wesley, Marigold, Bay et Gavin.
Il laisse derrière lui sa sœur Simone (Fleury) et son cher frère Yvon.
Gerry était et sera aimé et manqué de sa famille et ses amis. Homme attentionné, Gerry avait un sourire incroyable et un cœur chaleureux. Le rencontré c’était l’aimer. Il a vécu une bonne vie, une vie complète, comme mineur souterrain, puis comme fondateur/ propriétaire de Perron Seamless Eavestrough puis acheté et géré avec succès Buster's Confectionary jusqu'à sa retraite à l'âge de 60 ans. On se souviendra de lui et ses épluchettes de blé-d’Inde familiales, son amour du camping et de la pêche, sa menuiserie et de sa fabrication de sirop d'érable avec son frère Maurice.
Une célébration de sa vie aura lieu à la Paroisse Sainte Croix à Haileybury lundi le 14 novembre 2022 à 11:00. Un goûter suivra au sous-sol de l'église.
