KHOURY, Marni (Ethel Marion Sweeney) -
Marni (Ethel Marion Sweeney) Khoury, born on May 28th, 1933, daughter to Charles and Willow Sweeney, sister to Florence Smith (Sweeney), passed away peacefully into God’s arms on October 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She now watches over her devoted husband Gilbert; beloved children Deborah, Michael, Julie, Patrick, and Charles; loving sons-and-daughters-in-law Frank, Lesley, Dave, Brenda and Linda; and adored grandchildren, great-grand children and bonus family members.
From her youth on her family's farm in the Ottawa Valley, to her years studying Home Economics at MacDonald College (McGill University) in Montreal, to her grand love story with Gil and her time raising her beautiful and boisterous family, Marni led a vibrant life filled with music, poetry, laughter, kindness and so much love. She was a blessing and a joy to everyone she met, and her warmth, sparkling humor, patience, and faith have undoubtedly changed this world for the better. Marni, thank you for the gift of your beautiful spirit. The party upstairs just got a whole lot more fun!
Visitation will be held at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue, (North of Rexdale Boulevard), Etobicoke, Ontario, M9W 4J9, on Sunday, October 23rd from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A service celebrating Marni’s life will be held at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle at 2182 Kipling Avenue, Etobicoke, Ontario, M9W 4K9 on Monday October 24th at 1pm. Celebrants are encouraged to wear beautiful colours, in honour of Marni’s bright spirit.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church - Cemetery Fund @ 2574 Sixth Line Rd, Dunrobin, Ontario, K0A 1T0, and/or please perform a Random Act of Kindness in memory of Marni.
