Obituary for Mary Tymosko

TYMOSKO, Mary -
With joyful gratitude that she was such an integral part of our lives, we sadly announce the passing of Mary Tymosko (nee Witenko) at the wonderful age of 91. She passed peacefully surrounded by family while living at her daughter’s home. Predeceased by her loving husband Michael (2002) of 51 years. Survived and missed by children Peter, Christina and Zenon. Beloved Baba to Lorissa, Nicholas, Samantha, Shannon, Andrew and Sara and Babcha to 7 great-grandchildren.
Founding member of both St. Demetrius Ukrainian Church and St. Demetrius Women’s League where she was active for 61 years. Always ready to volunteer anytime a helping hand was required, from packing care parcels, helping with fund-raising events, parish activities, Ukrainian Care Centre activities, making hundreds of perogies, teaching student rosary classes, plus so much more. Mary and Michael opened their home to help a refugee family begin a new life in Canada. They also helped financially sponsor another refugee family. All this while continuously sending support to family in Ukraine. Wherever and whenever help was needed by anyone Mary did her best to support in any way she could. Her life was full of love and kindness. She is fondly remembered by friends as always bringing a positive light and cheerful smile.
Family and friends are invited to a service in Mary’s honour at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 La Rose Avenue, (Royal York Road and Eglinton Avenue), at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022.
For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, Mary proposes that you lend a helping hand, or share a kindness with someone in need – a loved one, a senior, a neighbour or a stranger – spread the love in memory of her passion to help others! Online condolences at newediukfuneralhome.com
