He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

"Joe" was an exceptional man, well-loved and admired by the many who had the blessing to know him. He had a special knack for making everyone feel important, a quality which endeared him to family, friends, and coworkers alike. Growing up in a Ukrainian Catholic family of 10 children in rural Saskatchewan, he set out after graduating from St. Joseph's High School in Yorkton to seek his fortune in the big city of Toronto. It wasn't until after his service in the RCAF during World War II, that his dream was realized, first in his marriage to Katherine Stasuik, the love of his life, and then by completing a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan in 1948. He returned to Toronto for a career with Canada Packers, eventually becoming National Production Manager, travelling and becoming respected both nationally and internationally, especially for his work ethic and problem solving skills. During this time he and "Kae" celebrated life and family, raising their three children, vacationing at their cottage, and creating treasured memories. Together they also enjoyed bridge, annual visits with family back in Saskatchewan, and golf, where Joe later volunteered on the Board of Islington Golf Club, eventually as President, As founding members of St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church with Kae, Joe also progressed to the 4th degree of the Metropolitan Andrew Sheptytsky Assembly No. 730 of the Knights of Columbus wherein he served a term as Grand Master. Among his endearing qualities was his ability to tell a good story, always "true", but often embellished by his great wit and humour. A man of faith, common sense, and kindness, Joe will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
