Obituary for Graziano Bottos

BOTTOS, Graziano -

Sadly passed away on May 11, 2022, was a loving husband, caring father, affectionate Nonno and a generous friend to many. Born in Barco di Pravisdomini Italy on April 12,1937, Graziano left his beloved homeland for new opportunities in Canada in 1956 . It was in Toronto that he started to build a new life, welcoming his beautiful bride Antonia to Canada in 1962. From the start, these two shared a special bond. Graziano always showered the love of his life with affection, protection and love. Antonia would say recently, “He was happy to see me around him. All the time. That’s all he wanted”. Indeed, these two were inseparable for almost 60 years.

In 1963 they welcomed their first child Luana and then Giovanni one year later. Their beautiful family continued to grow as eventually, Luana married John and Giovanni married Daniela providing 5 energetic grandchildren: Lukas, Nicholas, Jacob, Bianca and Felicia. Each adored their Nonno especially time spent at the cottage.

Graziano started a successful business with his partner Joe DiSanto, together building new homes in many communities. A master mason and savvy businessman Graziano was always an exceedingly hard-worker. Virtually every neighbour has a story of how he helped them with snow removal, the building of a shed, or by offering home-grown produce from their garden. He truly touched the lives of countless people.

Graziano had a quiet, strong presence. Always a man of class and style, he communicated in subtle ways, touching the lives of many through his kind, humble acts of generosity. He led his life to the fullest, enjoying food, wine and the great outdoors. Up until the end, even when he was confronted with significant health challenges, he conducted himself with poise and grace. Graziano Bottos will be forever remembered for this life-long legacy of integrity and strength. He will be sadly missed by friends and family both in Canada and in Italy. With suffering behind him, may he now rest in peace.
