Obituary for Herta Maria Zello
ZELLO, Herta (nee Kump) -
Herta Zello (nee Kump) left us on Monday, February 7th, 2022 after a life well-lived. She is now with her husband Alexander, parents John and Maria Kump, sister and brothers, Anna (Otto), Raymund (Rasi), Erna and Hansi. Unconditionally loved by her grateful son, Gordon Alexander, granddaughters Kathryn Alexandra, Julia Anastasia (David), and Stephanie Elizabeth, as well as best friend Betsy Plank (Bruno). She will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Gerda, extended family, friends, and neighbours. Herta was born on April 29th, 1929, and spent her younger years in Nesseltal, Gottschee. After World War II, her family was reunited in Austria where she also met her future husband. She moved to the United States (New York) with her parents and siblings, however, eventually settled with her husband Alexander in Toronto. Her only child was born in 1962 and was fortunate to have 60 years in her presence. Herta was an unselfish person who always thought of others and their happiness. Life was not always easy, especially her unsettled childhood and later caring for her husband, however, Herta never wavered and always saw the good in life, people and society. Herta cherished all the blessings she was given. May she rest in peace, and from her son and granddaughters “we love you more than you will ever know”. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, February 11, 2022 at St. Benedict Parish, 2194 Kipling Avenue, Toronto, at 1 p.m. Online condolences at newediukfuneralhome.com
