Obituary for Debra Anne Warren

WARREN, Debra Anne
(November 14, 1953 - January 23, 2022) -
It is with heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving daughter, sister, niece, cousin, god-mother and friend. Debra passed away at Michael Garron Hospital with her sister at her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Debra fought this battle with grace and integrity and her spirit to conquer was inspiring to all. Debra is survived by her mother Mary Anne Warren and her sister Mary Lisa Warren. Debra was born in Middleton, Nova Scotia and resided in Ontario for most of her life, at times in Toronto and also in the Peterborough/Port Hope area. She had several careers at which she excelled including optician and pharmaceutical sales and distribution. She devoted much of her spare time to her love of animals and the Wildlife Foundation Toronto Rescue services caring for injured birds and animals. She loved to travel and cottage on Kahshe Lake in Muskoka . She liked to ski on both snow and water and tried sailing in her later years. She loved to entertain and loved to laugh. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Princess Margaret Hospital for their years of support and also Michael Garron Hospital staff for their palliative care. The family would also like to thank Debra’s oldest and dearest friend Pat Meisner for her support of Debra throughout years of illness and for her care and kindness in the final days.
As per Debra’s wishes, a small service will be held. Resting at the NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue, Toronto (north of Rexdale Blvd.) on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 12 p.m. until service time in the chapel at 1 p.m. Online condolences at newediukfuneralhome.com
