Obituary

WHITEHEAD, Leslie -
In his 79th year, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 10th, 2021. A lover of golf, cross country skiing, cars, motorcycle’s especially his Navy Blue Wing. Les enjoyed yoga & breakfast with the girls. Les also taught ballroom dancing and was a site to behold on the dance floor. He will be deeply missed by his best friend Verne D’Angelo. He was the special Uncle to Duncan Tasker & Suzanne (Vern) Neild and Great Uncle of Richard (Beth) of the Isle of Man, extended family including Sandra D’Angelo, Kent family of Calgary and D’Angelo family of Toronto. There are so many people and organizations to thank for their kindness, support and dedication to the care of others. Dr. Stephen Smith & Associates, Dr.T. Izukawa of Baycrest Hospital Toronto, Dr. Bharucha, Dr. J. Stewart , Becky and the team 2 East medical and Palliative Nurses 1 south CCC at Bowmanville Hospital, PSW’s of Community Care Durham and the Clarington ALS team. My coordinator Paula from LHIN was invaluable through this process. Space doesn’t allow for all the individual names, you know who you are. From my heart to yours thank you. Donation in Les’ honour to Community Care Durham, Hospice Durham or the Clarington ALS team would be greatly appreciated and accepted. These caregivers saved my sanity during a time of great stress. A virtual celebration of Les’ life on Thursday January 14th 2021 at 2p.m. Donations may be made and condolences may be expressed online at the funeral home’s website www.wctownfuneralchapel.com.

Les was certainly one of a kind! He was always a thoughtful and caring Boss, co-worker, and above all else a friend. As I’m sure several others will agree, some of our golf trips to Myrtle Beach were legendary! Always a laugh and some tall tales over a cold adult beverage at Murphy’s Law!

My deepest condolences to Verne and to Les' family. Les was always very pleasant to me in any of our dealings, either at work (Honda) or just a chance encounter after he retired. I am very sorry for your loss!
