Sophia will be sadly missed. “Vichnaya Pamnayt”. Dear Petrashkewych Family: Sending profound condolence at this very sad time. Sophia will be so missed at Chestnut Place. It was always a pleasure to see her sitting in the Lobby and I would stop and have a chat. We had so many similar experiences - our husbands were both in Siberia and served in the Polish Army. I will miss her very much and will miss her happy smile. Sincerely - Lily Korzeniowski

Dear Vera and family. We feel deeply sad for your loss. We remember yor mother and what a lovely woman she was, happy, always smiling and very polite. I, (Oksana) loved both your parents and enjoyed speaking with them. In my heart I knew that she was a good mom and that she loved her family very much. It will be difficult for a while but with time it will become less. After so many years I still think of my parents and miss them, but I know that I was blessed to have them in my life. I smile and so will you girls remember all the good times.

Our deepest condolences to Vera, Darka, Halia, Zirka and your families. Your Mother was a truly beautiful person. She was always so happy and full of life. We have so many great memories that were made together while we were up at the cottage at Wasaga Beach. I met your Mother in 1961 and we spent a lot of time together, going to parties and zabavas. I really appreciated the close friendship we had. I will always remember her with great fondness. She will be missed.

Dear Alex and Vera, Our deepest condolences on the death of your beloved mothers, Tatjana (Pastoshchuk) Dashko and Sophia (Koziej) Petrashkewych. Our thoughts are with you and your families. The obituaries for your mothers were very moving. They are not only fine tributes to remarkable women, but a reminder to Canadians about the difficult lives of Ukrainian immigrants. Your mothers survived terrible times and found refuge as proud citizens in Canada. With their beloved husbands, they raised wonderful sons and daughters. You are a credit to them. May fond memories of your mothers sustain you during this difficult time. Stefania and Jack
