With great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Alex at home. He was the beloved son of the late Cheri and Rolfe Cushing. Cherished and adored younger brother to Amanda, and Allison (Ryan Dykeman). Also survived by grandmother Marjorie Cushing. Alex was a friendly, outgoing, charming and intelligent young man with so much talent and potential. He was extremely popular with all who knew him. After losing both of his parents at a young age, Alex was comforted by his many close friends. He loved to get together with them and cheer on his favourite teams, TFC, Toronto Raptors, Buffalo Bills, and the Detroit Red Wings. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and last but not least, his special best canine friend, Wilson. Visitation will take place at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark's United Church, 201 Centre St S, Whitby, ON, with a reception to follow. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Alexander’s memory may be made to the Durham Mental Health Services or the Ontario SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
