Condolence: I was a student of Mr.Barone’s Grade 7 class at St. Anthony’s... At the end of the year, I had the highest grade and in front of the class he presented me with a beautiful trophy, inscription read my name, Honour Student Grade 7. To this day it sits in my wall unit in my dining room. He was my favourite teacher...he showed us how to love education. Another classmate (the late Vincent Marcella) and I visited Mr.Barone and Norma many years ago and I still have the bottle of his wine. I wish I had known of his passing so I could come to pay my respects to a great person and sincere gentleman.

Condolence: I was very saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Dr. Anthony, John Baron. May He Rest In Peace!
I first met Dr. Barone in 1960 when he taught at St Anthony Elementary and I attended there as a newly arrived immigrant (starting in grade one). Ten years later, now a Field Superintendent, he recognized and acknowledged me within a large crowd of graduating teachers from Toronto Teachers’ College. After beginning my teaching career with the Board, our paths crossed many more times. During those encounters, whether formal or otherwise, his advice was very much appreciated. Thank you Tony for always being there and encouraging and supporting us-me and my colleagues to be the best teachers, consultants and administrators that we could be!
