Condolence: A very fond farewell to my 5:30 mass reading buddy...we go very far back - 40+years - and I believe God had a hand in reconnecting us as lector partners so many years later. Your mom had to repeatedly ask me to call her "Marni", as I automatically resorted to the more familiar "Mrs. Verth" from my youth. She was a joy to see and be around every week, funny and positive and kind-mannered, and always so very beautifully put together. I so admired her dedication to service at Transfiguration, and that even as she had more and more difficulty moving she was determined to continue her involvement. She is a shining example of God's goodness and love, and will be sadly missed, but so fondly rememered.
