Doug passed peacefully with his family by his side at Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in his 92nd year– on his late son Jim’s birthday. Predeceased in 2009 by his beloved wife of 57 years, Nancy. Loving father of Jim who passed in November 2017 (Nancy), David (Ellen), Nancylynn (Chris Opiola). Cherished grandfather of Tanya Plourde, Trevor, Scott, Stephen & Erin Webb, Geoffrey, Jeremy, Gregory and Jamie Opiola and great grandfather of 7 (with one more on the way). Leaving behind his good girl – Rascal his little dog. Doug is the last of the Webb siblings - Roy, Chuck, Vel (Russell) and Carl. Born January 8, 1927 and raised in St. Catharines, Doug was a retired tool and die maker at Thompson Products. Doug retired young to spend his time at the cottage, in Florida and with his family and friends. Doug maximized his family and fun time being retired 38 years (as many as he worked!). A member of the Whitby Seniors and Lawn Bowling, and he will be fondly remembered by many friends at Lynde Creek Retirement Manor and Stonehedge Park (Florida). Special thanks to the doctors and nurses in the cardiac ward – we hope he made you smile as much as you made him. Visitation will be at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, Wednesday, March 28 from 7-9pm and Thursday, March 29 from 1-2:30 pm followed by a service.
