Passed away tragically, as a result of a fire at his home in Brampton, on Friday March 28, 2014. Devoted and cherished father of Pamela, Kathryn, and Jeffrey, who are lost without him. Brother of John, David and Ira. Predeceased by his parents Louis and Judith Zbarsky. Lovingly remembered by Judy, his staff and clients at the Etobicoke Veterinary Hospital, especially his dedicated employees Cheryl and Chris, as well as his life long friends Tony and Diane Sobczak. Richard died saving the lives of his son and his son's friend. Richard dedicated his life to his children, his practice, and the animals he loved to heal. He will be missed terribly. Resting at the NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue, Toronto (North of Rexdale Blvd.), on Wednesday April 2, 2014 from 7pm-9pm and Thursday April 3, 2014 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Friday April 4, 2014 at 1:00pm and a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Ontario Veterinary College Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Zbarsky always strove to provide compassionate and quality care to his patients especially those in pain and in their later years of life. In his memory, these donations would be used to continue his life's work.
