I had the pleasure of working with Jennie for many years. She use to refer to me as Calamity Jane, due to my knack for getting myself into some very awkward and embarrassing situations! One story that comes to mind was when we had the old metal desks and I left the drawer open. When I went to sit down I hit the corner of the drawer, ripped my skirt and sliced my butt cheek! Jennie, being the most reliable of our group, was in charge of the Red Cross box and she kept safety pins, needle & thread etc in her desk. I asked her for the needle & thread to repair my skirt and a band aide for my butt. As she handed them over she said, with an absolutely straight face, “Calamity Jane, now you’ll have to fill out an accident report and have Security check out your injuries!” We had a lot of laughs and good times together and I treasure those memories.
