MAILLET, Mary Bessie (nee Gallant) -
Born on her beloved Cape Breton Island on March 26, 1935. She passed away on June 25, 2017, surrounded by family. She was known by some as Mary, by others as Bessie, but by all as a selfless, loving, caring woman. Her sense of humor, love of music, especially East Coast music, often caused her to spontaneously break out in dance. Predeceased by her husband Jerry (2011). Loving mother of Wayne and Claudette (Al 2009). Proud grandma of Julie (Matt), Michelle and Jason. Adoring great-grandma of Ella. Supportive sister of Alec (Winnie 2016) Gallant, Agnes (Roy) Skinner, Leo Paul (Jeannette) Gallant. Predeceased by her parents Mary Ellen (nee Leblanc 1978) and Edmund Gallant (2006). Predeceased by her siblings Mary Theresa (In Infancy) and her brother Calist (1962). Mary will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary Bessie and her “joie de vivre” will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2194 Kipling Avenue, Toronto at 9am.
